Peter Schreiner (local history researcher)

Peter Schreiner (born November 28, 1937 in Cologne ; † June 1, 2014 ) was a German teacher and local researcher .

In addition to his professional activity as a primary school teacher and later as a secondary school teacher, he has been involved in local research since 1977, in particular the history of his place of residence in Pulheim and the Brauweiler Abbey . From 1977 to 2013 he was first chairman of the Verein für Geschichte e. V. Pulheim .

In 1981 the Landscape Association of Rhineland awarded Peter Schreiner the Albert Steeger scholarship , he is the holder of the Rhineland Taler . In recognition of his services to the development of German-Polish relations, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 1998. In 2010 he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on the ribbon .
