Peter Siebke

Peter Siebke (born March 31, 1943 ) is a former German soccer player who was active in the second-rate GDR league for the company sports association (BSG) Stahl Maxhütte in the 1970s .

Athletic career

As early as the 1960s, Peter Siebke was a member of the football section of BSG Stahl Maxhütte, the company sports association of the steel and rolling mill of the same name in Unterwellenborn . In 1970 he was with the first team of the BSG master of the third-class district league Gera . However, the steelworkers could not prevail in the promotion round to the GDR league. Only when BSG Stahl became district champion again in 1972 did they automatically qualify for promotion, as the GDR league had meanwhile been expanded to five seasons.

Peter Siebke was already 29 years old when he was in the squad for the GDR league team at BSG Stahl Maxhütte in 1972/73. Nevertheless, he played 20 of the 22 league games and scored nine goals. That was 38% of the 24 goals scored by BSG Stahl. This made Siebke the team's top scorer and landed third in the league season E's goalscorer list. With his goals Siebke played a key role in keeping the steelworkers out of the league.

After the end of the season, Peter Siebke ended his career in high-class football.
