Peter Silberkuhl

Peter Silberkuhl (born February 2, 1939 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German lawyer and former presiding judge at the Federal Administrative Court .

Life

Silberkuhl studied law at the Eberhard Karls University and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . In 1958 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Tübingen . He received his doctorate in Bonn as Dr. iur.

As a probationary judge, he began his legal career at the Essen District Court in 1967 . In 1970 he switched to administrative jurisdiction . He was initially a judge at the Administrative Court of Gelsenkirchen in this branch of the court . During this time he was seconded to the Federal Administrative Court as a research assistant for one year . In 1974 he became a judge at the Higher Administrative Court for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in Münster .

In 1981 he became a judge at the Federal Administrative Court, where he was initially assigned to the 8th Revision Senate. 8. The Senate was in charge of municipal law , tax law , housing law and military law . In 1998 he moved to the 2nd Audit Senate, which dealt with public service law. In 2000 Silberkuhl became the chairman of the 2nd Senate. Since the beginning of 2002 he was also chairman of the specialist senate according to § 189 VwGO . Silberkuhl was a member of the Presidential Council of the Federal Administrative Court from 1996 to 2003. He retired on March 1, 2004.

In addition to his judicial work, Silberkuhl published on legal topics. Among other things, he was co-author of a commentary on the Basic Law .
