Peter Sohren

Peter Sohren (also Peter Sohr , * around 1630 in Elbing ; † around 1692 there ) was a German church musician .

Life

From 1665 he was cantor at the Heiligleichnam church and later also a teacher at the grammar school in Elbing. For a while he worked in Dirschau . In 1668 he created the melody of the hymn You Bread of Life, Lord Jesus Christ , which is known today as God brought me here . It was important to publish a large-scale Evangelical Lutheran hymn book in 1683.
