Castanopsis acuminatissima is aspecies of tree fromthe beech family (Fagaceae) that occurs in Southeast Asia . Your nuts are edible. As a pioneer wood , it can be used for reforestation.

Castanopsis acuminatissima is a tree . The leaves are sawn in the upper half.
The fruit cups (cupulae) are studded with simple spikes. The spines are curved, irregular and not close together so that the skin of the fruit cup remains visible. The fruit cups always open. The nuts are bare and are formed individually or up to four. They are egg-shaped or flattened on one long side, sometimes compressed.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
Distribution and locations
The species occurs in Thailand, Myanmar, Indochina, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan and New Guinea. It grows in lowland rainforest, in low mountain forests and in mixed deciduous forests over granite or sandstone .
