Peter Stoll (ecologist)

Peter Stoll (born February 18, 1963 in Stein am Rhein ) is a Swiss plant ecologist and lecturer at the University of Basel .

Life

Peter Stoll studied biology and crop science at the University of Bern and the University of Basel between 1983 and 1990 . In 1995 he received his doctorate at the Institute for Environmental Sciences at the University of Zurich . Between 1995 and 2001 research stays at Swarthmore College (Pennsylvania, USA), at Harvard University (Massachusetts, USA), at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (Copenhagen, Denmark) and at Hokkaido University (Sapporo, Japan). Stoll completed his habilitation in plant ecology. Between 1997 and 2000, Stoll was a lecturer at the University of Bern at the Institute for Plant Sciences and since 2001 research assistant and lecturer at the University of Basel at the Institute for Conservation Biology.

Peter Stoll is a member of the blues band "RAMP" ( guitar , mandolin , vocals ).

  • Modeling of competitive behavior in plants
