Peter Weber (politician, 1968)

Peter Weber (born November 14, 1968 in Olpe ) is a German CDU local politician . He is the mayor of the Sauerland district town of Olpe.

Career

After graduating from the Städtisches Gymnasium Olpe in 1988, he passed the examination to become a legal clerk (FH) in 1991 and worked as a judicial clerk at the district courts of Olpe, Lennestadt and Plettenberg until 1997. In 1998 he became the deputy manager of the Siegen District Court and in 2001 completed a postgraduate course in administrative business administration. After a brief activity at the Hamm Higher Regional Court, Peter Weber returned to the Siegen District Court as deputy manager and became manager in 2008.

Member of the CDU since 1996, he moved to the city council of Olpe in 2009 as a directly elected city councilor. In 2012 he became chairman of the CDU council group and a member of the board of the CDU in the Olpe district. In 2015 he was elected as the successor to the no longer running mayor Horst Müller in the local elections and thus prevailed against two competitors.

Peter Weber is married and has two sons.
