Peter Zajicek

Peter Zajicek (born October 24, 1961 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian professional footballer.

Peter Zajicek was an active footballer at Vienna (first division debut 1983), Austria Salzburg , Kremser SC , SV Stockerau (Austrian Cup winner 1991), FK Austria Wien , VSE St. Pölten , VfB Mödling (2nd goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach under Hans Krankl ) and at SC Mauerbach .

Under Krankl, Zajicek was also a goalkeeper coach at Gerasdorf. Later he came to Vienna, where he gained a lot of experience. His next stop was the Admira . Walter Schachner gave Zajicek the chance to really distinguish himself as a goalkeeper coach in paid professional football . Under Schachner, Zajicek was the goalkeeper coach of FC Kärnten , Austria Wien, Grazer AK (Austrian champions and cup winners 2004) and TSV 1860 Munich .

From March 2007 to the summer of 2009 he was the goalkeeper coach at SK Rapid Vienna under head coach Peter Pacult . With Rapid, Zajicek became Austrian football champion in 2008.

In January 2011, Zajicek was hired by FC St. Gallen as a goalkeeper coach, and in spring 2012 he was goalkeeper coach at TSV Hartberg .

His nickname "Tiger from White Hart Lane " was given in 1991 because of his excellent goalkeeping performances in two European Cup matches between SV Stockerau and Tottenham Hotspur . The second division club Stockerau lost both matches against the top English team thanks to Zajicek only 0: 1.
