Petit Piton (Eng. "Kleine Scharte" or "Small Summit") is a mountain in the Pitons area , a protected area in the southwest of St. Lucia , and there in the south of the Soufrière district . It is located near the center of Soufrière Bay , south of Soufrière and north of the higher Gros Piton , with which it is connected through the Piton Mitan Ridge . The Petit Piton rises to 739 meters above sea level and consists of an old volcanic core . The Gros Piton towers over it by about 46 meters.
