The Petite Rocks (English for dainty rocks ) are two small, isolated and 1,155 m high rock outcrops in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the Forrestal Range of the Pensacola Mountains they rise 8 km east of the central Dufek massif in the western part of the Sallee snowfield .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them on the basis of their own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1956 and 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names gave them their descriptive name based on their size in 1968.
