Petr Janda (musician)
Petr Janda (born May 2, 1942 in Prague ) is a Czech rock singer, songwriter and guitarist. He has been the singer of the band Olympic since 1963 .
Life
His career began in 1959 with the band Sputníci , later he took part in Big Beat Quintet (also BBQ ). In 1963 he moved to the rock band Olympic . Thanks to the weekly magazine Mladý svět , the band was also allowed to play in western countries, which was rare at the time. In the band he worked as a songwriter , singer and guitarist.
In April 1974 his daughter Marta Jandová was born.
From 1974 to 1976 he took part in the Czechoslovak Audience Award Zlatý slavík . From 1981 to 1983 he won several prizes with his band in the same competition. From 1996 to 1998 he took part with the band in the Czech competition Česky slavík and received the first prizes.
