Frank fighter

Frank Kämper (born July 30, 1938 in Rostock ; † November 12, 2010 ) was a German historian who researched the history of (South) Eastern Europe.

Frank Kampf graduated from high school in Dresden in 1957 . After three years of factory work at the Dresden-Klotzsche aircraft factory , he went to West Berlin . He studied Slavic Studies, Eastern European History and Art History at the Free University of Berlin . There he received his doctorate in 1966 with a thesis on Russian historiography. He then studied Southeast European Art History at the University of Belgrade from 1968 to 1970 and completed this course with an unpublished master's thesis on the monastery church of St. Nicholas in Psača, now part of the municipality of Rankovce , Macedonia.

After completing his habilitation at the University of Heidelberg in 1978 , he taught from 1979 until his retirement in 2003 as a professor for the older history of East Central and Eastern Europe at the University of Münster . He then worked as a lecturer for historical visual communication at the University of Hamburg . Eduard Mühle was one of Kämpfer's academic students in Münster .
