Petra Čagalj Sejdi (born April 12, 1978 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She has been a member of the Saxon state parliament as a replacement for Wolfram Günther since 2020 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1997 in Frankfurt am Main, Petra Čagalj Sejdi studied German language and literature, Eastern and Southeast European studies as well as communication and media studies at the universities of Leipzig and Zagreb from 1999 to 2006.

Professionally, she worked as a lecturer, translator, teacher and intercultural consultant. From 2009 to 2012 she headed the DAAD office in Skopje. From 2017 to 2020 she was project coordinator at the Association of Roma and Sinti in Saxony (Romano Sumnal).

Party and politics

Petra Čagalj Sejdi has been a member of Alliance 90 / The Greens since 2005. From 2014 to 2020 she represented her party in the city council of Leipzig . In the state parliament she is the spokesperson for asylum, migration and integration, inclusion, consumer protection and development policy for her parliamentary group.
