Petra Knorr

Petra Maria Knorr (* 1970 in Immerath ) is a German lawyer . She is a judge at the Federal Social Court .

Live and act

From 1990 Knorr studied law at the University of Bonn , later at the University of Mainz . In 1995 she passed her first state examination in law in Mainz and then completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz . There she passed her second state examination in 1997 and initially worked briefly as a lawyer. In September 1997, Knorr joined the higher judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and was initially employed at the Dortmund Social Court . In 2004 she transferred to the State Social Court of North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2005 she was from the University of Cologne with the regulatory social work Comparison of disability pensions in Germany and the Netherlands to Dr. iur. PhD. In 2011 Knorr was seconded to the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Justice for three years . In 2016 she was seconded to the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Justice, where she headed the Cabinet, State Parliament and Federal Council departments. From autumn 2017 she headed the staff department of the State Secretary for Justice. In December 2017 she was appointed Ministerial Councilor.

In July 2018, Knorr was elected judge at the Federal Social Court. However, she did not take up her new position until November 20, 2019 and was assigned to the 3rd Senate, which is primarily responsible for statutory health insurance, long-term care insurance and artists' social insurance.

Knorr is married and has two children.
