Petre Mihai Bănărescu

Petre Mihai Bănărescu (born September 15, 1921 in Craiova , Dolj district - May 12, 2009 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian ichthyologist ( ichthyologist ) and u. a. Member of the Romanian Academy Association. Bănărescu published over 300 publications in the course of his scientific career. For example, he made a contribution to the intergradation of the taxon Sabanejewia bulgarica . In 1975 he became an honorary member of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists and in 1988 an honorary member of the European Society of Ichtyologists .
