The ash gray rock spar ( Petrophytum cinerascens ) is a species of the genus Petrophytum in the rose family (Rosaceae).
features
The ash-gray rock spar is an evergreen dwarf shrub that reaches heights of 7 to 18 centimeters. The leaves are usually 15 to 25, rarely from 10 millimeters long, mostly 2 to 4, rarely up to 5 millimeters wide, ash gray and spatulate to traffic lanceolate . The underside of the leaf is three-veined. The peduncle is 5 to 15 centimeters long, the inflorescence 2 to 6 centimeters. The calyx lobes are lanceolate-triangular, upright and pointed. There are 20 to 25 stamens present.
The flowering period extends from June to August.
Occurrence
The ash gray rock spar occurs in the Northwest of the USA in the Rocky Mountains on basalt rocks on steep banks.
