Petrus Gonzales (also Pedro González ; * before 1190 in Frómista ; † April 15, 1246 in Tui ) was a Spanish priest and canon who entered the Dominican order and worked as a seafarer's missionary in Spain and Portugal .

Over time, the veneration of Petrus Gonzales was mixed with that of the actual patron saint of sailors, Saint Erasmus of Antioch (Spanish: San Telmo ), so that he is known in Spain as San Pedro Telmo . Several places are named after him, see San Telmo .

In 1741 he was beatified by Pope Benedict XIV .
