Petrus de Drusina

Petrus de Drusina (Polish today Piotr z Drużna ; * around 1560; † 1611 ) was an organist and composer in Danzig and Elbing .

Life

Peter was a son or other relative of the lutenist Benedictus de Drusina from the area around Elbing. He worked as an organist in the St. Mary's Church (and the St. Barbara Church?) In Gdansk. In 1605 he was cantor at the Marienkirche in Elbing.

Some organ compositions and choral music, mostly preludes and intabulations of motets, have been preserved by Petrus de Drusina. They are recorded in the Oliva tablature , some pieces are kept in the library of the Marienkirche in Gdańsk.
