Christian Krollmann
Christian Anton Christoph Krollmann (born February 11, 1866 in Bremen , † July 19, 1944 in Königsberg ) was a German philologist , librarian and archivist . He was considered one of the greatest experts on East Prussia's regional history.
Life
Krollmann studied philology in Marburg , Munich and Halle and History at the University of Königsberg , where he in 1904 to Dr. phil. received his doctorate . In 1902 he became archivist for Prince Dohna in Schlobitten . City librarian since 1917, in 1924 he became head of the Königsberg City Library and the Königsberg City Archives . He retired in 1934.
In 1923 he was co-founder of the Historical Commission for East and West Prussian State Research , with which he founded the Old Prussian biography . He saw it go to press up to “P”.
