The scout house Lindersberg is a guest house near Breitenbach , a district of the Upper Franconian town of Ebermannstadt in the Forchheim district in Bavaria .

description

The scout house Lindersberg is a self-catering house, which belongs to the youth castle Burg Feuerstein . The management of the house and the surrounding campground is carried out by the German Scouting Association Sankt Georg . The house, which is open all year round, can accommodate groups of up to 40 people.

history

The name Lindersberg is presumably due to a hearing defect. In any case, the fact is that the area is called Lindesberg .

It was built during the Second World War and has since been expanded twice and renovated several times. In 1941/1942, Feuerstein Castle was built as a private research laboratory for the physicist Oskar Vierling . Today's scout house, the Kleine Feuerstein , was built for radio experiments away from traffic. The design was modeled on a castle with a tower in order to adapt it to the overall picture of Franconian Switzerland .

After the war the building lost its function and after 1946 demolition was considered. The Archbishop's Chair later acquired the building and, with the help of Feuerstein Castle, expanded it into a meeting place and educational facility for Catholic youth. In 1958 the current owner, the Landespfadfinderschaft Bamberg eV, took over the property.

The first scout radio station is located in the tower (call sign DK Ø BS).

Group room on the ground floor

The building was extensively renovated and is now used by other groups as a training and leisure facility in addition to the scouts.
