Pfaffengrün is a district of the Oberkotzau market in the Hof district in Upper Franconia .
The hamlet is located in the southwest of the municipal area not far from the individual settlements Herrenlohe and Lerchenberg. The thoroughfare connects the villages of Fletschenreuth and Autengrün . Pfaffengrün consists of an animal shelter and a farm. The Puchta family living there can be traced back to 1618. Wolfgang Puchta was the first named resident of the place in 1618. His grandson of the same name was referred to as a farmer and parish man in 1687. The animal shelter, housed in an old rural property, is already part of Fletschenreuth. Overall, the place has always been to Schwarzenbach an der Saaleparish. Before it was incorporated into Oberkotzau, Pfaffengrün was part of the Autengrün community, and the children previously attended the Fletschenreuth village school.
