history

As early as 1500 there was a cemetery around the old Nikolauskirche (in the area of ​​today's New Town Hall ). Due to an imperial court decree in 1786, this was relocated to its current location, the former cloister garden of the abolished Capuchin monastery Urfahr, and has served as the cemetery of the Urfahr parish ever since. There are works of art by Max Stockenhuber and Adolf Kloska on the cemetery grounds .
