Pastors' meeting in Kreien (1959)

The Kreien rectory in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district was built in 1799. The builder was Friedrich Franz I (Mecklenburg) , who held the church patronage .

history

Documents about the construction of the rectory are kept in the Schwerin church archive. It is documented that the oaks for the half-timbering in the Woosten Heide were felled.

We owe the new building to Pastor Adolf Gottlieb Susemihl (1741–1808). After taking up his pastorate position in 1797, he complained bitterly in several letters about the condition of the old rectory, which was dilapidated and draughty. In 1800 he was able to move into the new building. Susemihl had been pastor in Kreien since 1797. He was married to Ilsabe Sophie Magdalene Schertling , from whom he was divorced in 1789: In 1790 she wanted to become a singer in the Herzogliche Kapelle zu Schwerin.

church

The Kreiener church dates from the 14th (or 15th) century. The mention of the Kreien parish as early as 1320 in connection with the founding of the Marienfließ nunnery in Stepenitz speaks in favor of the former: “From 1271, the Mariafliess nunnery in Stepenitz acquired extensive property here, on which the pastors of Kreien, Karbow, Stüwensdorf in 1320 and meet Barkow. ... all of these and those in Darze ... will be foundations of the monastery, ”writes church historian Karl Schmaltz.

Monument protection

Both the church and the rectory are listed as monuments .

place

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1271, when Johann von Schnakenburg ceded eight Hufen to the Marienfließ monastery in Stepenitz . In 1369 the Huskummer family also transferred land to the monastery.
