The Roman Catholic parish church of Achenkirch is located in the village of Achenkirch in the municipality of Achenkirch in the Schwaz district in Tyrol . The church consecrated to St. John the Baptist belongs to the dean's office in Fügen-Jenbach in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was documented in 1122 and a parish in 1141 - incorporated into the Georgenberg monastery. A Gothic church was consecrated in 1520. The new baroque building was built between 1748 and 1750 with Jakob Singer . The tower was built in 1755.

architecture

The baroque hall building with a north tower is surrounded by a cemetery.

Furnishing

The facility was built around 1870.

The holy grave was created by Franz Diechel (1838).

The organ was built by Josef Aigner (1878) and changed by Franz II Reinisch. The instrument has 19 stops on two manual works and pedals.
