Jakob Singer (master builder, 1718)

Jakob Singer (born July 25, 1718 in Forchach ; † March 10, 1788 in Lucerne ) was an Austrian-Swiss builder .

Life

His parents were the married couple Johann Georg Singer and Anna, née Pföffer. His younger brother, the later master builder Johann Anton Singer (1721–1795), was in places involved in the work of Jakob Singer and developed his own designs and implemented them in his own work. After Jakob Singer became Hintersäss (resident without citizenship) in Lucerne in 1756 , he was accepted into the Safran Guild in 1757 . In 1758 he received civil rights and married Barbara Imbach in 1759, with whom he had nine children.
