Forchach was first mentioned in 1200 as "Vorhach" (Föhrenwald). The Swabian knight Konrad von Witzner owned the land around Forchach until 1294 . In the same year it was sold by him to the Füssner Stift. After the land belonged to the Lords of Starkenberg from 1326, Forchach became a sub-community of the Reutte court .
Municipal coat of arms
The municipality's coat of arms depicts the origin of the municipality's name with the silver pine branch.
economy
The community lives from agriculture, tourism and a small industrial settlement. There is also a branch of Urban Maschinenbau , Memmingen, in the village .
Culture and sights
In addition to the Expositurkirche St. Sebastian, there is also a suspension bridge in the municipality. The original suspension bridge was built in wood in 1906 and was 75 meters long.
