The Roman Catholic parish church of Altersberg in the municipality of Trebesing is consecrated to St. Lucia .
description
The nave of the church dates from the 17th or early 18th century. The late Gothic choir with five-eighth final was in the Baroque period a sacristy grown. A tower with an onion helmet was built above it in 1864 . A bell cast by Lorenz Pez in 1659 hangs in the tower.
The round picture on the flat ceiling in the nave with a depiction of St. George was painted by Martin Ladinig in 1907. A low pointed triumphal arch connects the nave with the ridge-vaulted choir. The wall paintings in the choir date from the second quarter of the 15th century and were uncovered in 1962. Saints Ottilie , Katharina and Dorothea can be seen in the arched area of the northern sloping wall , above them Veronica's handkerchief .
The high altar from 1705 shows the martyrdom of St. Lucia in the middle picture and the Good Shepherd in the top picture . On the left side there is a statue of St. Lucia, who is carrying a plate with two eyes, and to the right is a statue of St. Ottilie, who is carrying a book with two eyes. Both saints are also invoked with eye problems.
In front of the right side altar there is a fountain under a wooden flap, the water of which is said to have healing properties for eye diseases.
