The Roman Catholic parish church of Atzbach is located in Atzbach in the municipality of Atzbach in the Vöcklabruck district in Upper Austria . The church, consecrated to the birth of Mary , belongs to the dean's office Schwanenstadt in the diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

One church was mentioned in a document at the beginning of the 13th century. The Gothic church is from the second half of the 15th century, the altar was consecrated in 1497. From 1697 to around 1700, it was renovated in Baroque style according to the plans of Carlo Antonio Carlone with master mason Leonhard Endthofer von Vöcklabruck.

The single-nave four-bay nave is followed by a retracted two-bay choir with a five-eighth end . Nave and choir are barrel vaulted with stab cap. The three-axis west gallery is baroque. The west tower, probably redesigned in Baroque style in 1737/1738, was changed after a fire (1946) and finished with an onion helmet in 1958.

Furnishing

The neo-baroque high altar bears two baroque apostle figures from the old altar by Thomas Schwanthaler (1673) on the tabernacle . The side altars are neo-baroque. The left side altar bears a Baroque seated Madonna in the manner of Thomas Schwanthaler and two Baroque top figures Johannes Nepomuk and Donatus by Joachim Ertl from Lambach (1773). The right side altar bears the late Baroque top figures Florian and Sebastian von Ertl (1771). Joseph Teitl from Linz created the classicist pulpit (1790).
