The Roman Catholic parish church Bregenz-Fluh is located in the Fluh district in the city of Bregenz in Vorarlberg . The parish church of St. Wendelin is part of the Bregenz Dean's Office in the Feldkirch diocese . The pilgrimage church is a listed building .

history

In 1666 a chapel was built as a branch of Bregenz. 1820 Expositurkirche. The church was rebuilt in 1846/1847 with the architect Gabriel Mallaun and consecrated in 1849. The pilgrimage church was elevated to a parish church in 1872.

architecture

The nave under a hipped roof is followed by a drawn-in low choir with a three-eighth closure under a gable roof. The east tower was added to the choir head. On the east side of the tower is a two-story sacristy under a flat hipped roof. The tower with arched sound openings has flat triangular gables and a pointed helmet above a surrounding cornice.

The nave has a flat barrel vault. The frescoes were painted by Anton Marte and Hans Purin (1925).

Furnishing

The high altar shows a picture of St. Wendelin as abbot and patron of the church, painted by Matthäus Zehender (1693). The left side altar shows the image of St. Maria by Bernhard Müller (1770). The right side altar shows the picture of St. Magnus von Füssen by Franz Bertle (1876). One painting shows a large pilgrimage picture with the legend of St. Wendelin (1676).
