The Roman Catholic parish church Ebensee-Roith is located in the district of Roith in the municipality of Ebensee am Traunsee in the Gmunden district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Niklaus von Flüe and belongs to the pastoral care room Ebensee in the dean's office in Bad Ischl . The church is a listed building .

history

On January 8, 1959, a mass was celebrated in the village of Roith for the first time. The so-called "Kogsedervilla" was adapted as a pastoral care center. After a long search for a plot of land and planning by the then chaplain of Ebensee , Richard Giesriegl , the church was built under the direction of architect Helmut Reischer . The foundation stone was laid on May 16, 1967 and the church was inaugurated on January 19, 1969.

Church building

The large church window on the back wall of the church was created in the Schlierbach Abbey glass workshop based on a design by the Linz painter Rudolf Kolbitsch .

Furnishing

The altar, the tabernacle, the candlesticks, the holy water basin, the door handles and the sacrificial stake are sculptures by Josef Priemetshofer from Steyr . In 1989 a small organ was also purchased. It was developed in the 1960s by Gregor Hradetzky from Krems an der Donau and was originally a practice organ in the “Guter Hirte” student residence in Linz. The sculptural work (altar, tabernacle, candlestick, holy water basin, processional cross, door handles, offering box, chalice) are by the sculptor Josef Priemetshofer, Steyr. The 14 stations of the cross from 1989 made of bronze come from Johann Kienesberger .
