Parish church Edlach an der Rax
The Roman Catholic parish church of Edlach an der Rax is located in the municipality of Reichenau an der Rax in the Neunkirchen district in Lower Austria . The church, consecrated to the Holy Spirit , belongs to the Deanery Gloggnitz in the Vicariate Unter dem Wienerwald of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church building is under monument protection .
history
The church was built in 1938/1939 with Peter Partli according to plans from 1936 by Robert Kramreiter as a branch church of the Reichenau an der Rax parish. In 1947 she was elevated to a parish church. In 1989 the interior was restored.
architecture
Around the deep oval central space under a conical roof are cross-shaped additions and a dominant pair of west towers on the entrance side. The character is determined by the cubic design and the ratio of large wall sections and the relatively small, symmetrically placed window openings that vary in shape. The central area is dimly lit and opened in a cross shape. In the east there is a flat-roofed, raised choir and in the south a chapel-like design with a strong supply of light.
Furnishing
The equipment comes largely from the construction period. Around the apse wall painting Holy Spirit Dove with angels. The glass painting was created by the Tyrolean glass painting company . The crucifix is from 1900.
The organ was built by the Werner Walcker-Mayer company in 1988 . Three bells were cast in 1938 and two in 1957.
