The Tyrolean Glass Painting and Mosaic Establishment is an arts and crafts company founded in Innsbruck in 1861 by Georg Mader , Josef von Stadl and Albert Neuhauser , which specializes in the manufacture and restoration of church windows and leaded glass windows .

Church windows and mosaics from this workshop can be found in more than 4000 churches worldwide.

history

In the founding years, the company was located in Innsbruck's old town and today's Brixnerstrasse. In 1870 the new building was built on Müllerstraße, which is still the main location today. The short connection between Müllerstraße and Maximilianstraße was named Glasmalereistraße after the company.

Under the director Albert Jele (1874–1898) the business took off and branches were founded in Vienna and New York.

In the 19th century, there was a glass factory in today's Schöpfstraße to cover its own needs.

Between 1900 and 1902 the company made the mosaic frieze designed by Eduard Lebiedzki for the parliament building in Vienna.

Artistic director was Bernard Rice from 1897 to 1917 , and Gottlieb Schuller from 1919 to 1944 .
