The Eichgraben parish church is located in the municipality of Eichgraben in the Vienna Woods in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church Herz Jesu , also called Friedenskirche and Wienerwalddom, belongs to the deanery Neulengbach in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church is a listed building .

history

The Eichgraben parish church was built between 1948 and 1951 by architect Josef Friedl and consecrated on October 21, 1951.

It is a huge hall structure, which is also called the Vienna Woods Cathedral because of its beauty and size . It holds over 1000 people. The tower is decorated with the symbols of the four Evangelists made of Margarethner sandstone . The stained glass of the ten large windows show the joyful and the glorious rosary . The wood-carved and gold-plated pulpit is particularly artistically designed . The three altars were made from Salzburg marble.
