The Roman Catholic parish church Friedburg is located in Friedburg in the municipality of Lengau in the Braunau am Inn district in Upper Austria . The church consecrated to St. Sebastian belongs to the Mattighofen deanery in the diocese of Linz . The church building is under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in a document around 1180. The church was rebuilt from 1867 to 1869. The church and its furnishings were restored in 1954.

architecture

The single-nave, three-bay, barrel-vaulted nave is followed by a single-bay stab cap barrel-vaulted choir with a three-eighth end. The west gallery has two floors. The west tower wears a pointed helmet.

Furnishing

The charming high altar in rococo was created around 1770. The pulpit in baroque forms was created in 1869. The two side altars around 1740 were transferred here in 1954 from the parish church of Seewalchen am Attersee . In niches in the choir are the wooden statues Ecce Homo and Our Lady of Sorrows, both from the early 18th century. There are statues of St. Florian and St. Johannes Nepomuk from the third quarter of the 18th century.

There is a bell from 1475.
