The parish church of Hagenberg in the Mühlkreis is located in the northwest of the castle chapel of Hagenberg Castle in the market town of Hagenberg in the Mühlkreis in the Freistadt district in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to Saint Joseph of Nazareth belongs to the Pregarten dean's office in the Diocese of Linz .

history

The castle chapel was the former parish church. In 1982/1983 the new parish church was built according to the plans of the architects Othmar Kainz and Gottfried Nobl .

architecture

The irregular octagonal arena-like central building with an open roof truss shows different roof slopes, which are connected by gradations. Rudolf Kolbitsch created the glass windows during the construction period.

Furnishing

There is an oil painting of the Holy Kinship with God the Father, prophets, choir of angels from the third quarter of the 17th century. The neo-baroque baptismal font bears an essay with Christ Salvator and John the Baptist from the 19th century.
