Parish Church of Hirm
The Roman Catholic parish church of Hirm is located in the municipality of Hirm in the Mattersburg district in Burgenland . The parish church consecrated to St. Roch belongs to the Mattersburg deanery in the Eisenstadt diocese . The church is a listed building .
history
The church was built in 1898.
architecture
The neo-Gothic church building has a choir with a five-eighth closure and an east tower with a pointed helmet. The two-bay nave has a groin vault.
Furnishing
The three-part neo-Gothic altar bears the statues of Saints Roch, John the Baptist and Joseph. It was created around 1900 by the woodcarver Josef Rifesser from Val Gardena. The currently unplayable single-manual organ is the work of the organ builder Franz Capek from Krems and, with its neo-Gothic case, is also part of the original furnishings of the church around 1900.
