Catholic parish church of St. Vitus in Holzhausen

The Roman Catholic parish church Holzhausen is in the municipality Holzhausen in Wels-Land district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Vitus and belongs to the Deanery Wels-Land in the Diocese of Linz . The building and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

The church is a late Gothic church from the second half of the 15th century.

architecture

Church exterior

Despite its small dimensions, the church makes a light and spacious impression. The west tower has a pointed helmet.

Church interior

The three-bay nave has a single nave. Above it is ribbed vault . The choir is the same width as the nave and closes in the 5/8.

Furnishing

The decor is neo-Gothic . Behind the high altar of the tabernacle is a picture of St. Joachim and St. Anna by Bartolomeo Altomonte from 1749. It is framed by an old frame. The top picture shows Saint Anne. The two pictures come from the former Carmelite Church in Linz . They were restored in 1955. In the choir there is a carved table top in the Rococo style from the period between 1760 and 1770. In the choir there are also two full- figure relief tombstones from 1514 and 1526. The lavabo sacristy was built around 1600.
