The Roman Catholic parish church of Jetzelsdorf is located in the village of Jetzelsdorf in the municipality of Haugsdorf in the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria . It is the Feast of the Assumption and St. Benedict ordained and is in the deanery Retz-Pulkautal the Vicariate under the Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

The church is in the east of the village of Jetzelsdorf.

history

The parish Jetzelsdorf is a Josephinian parish foundation. It was detached from the Pfaffendorf parish in 1784 and has since been incorporated into the Göttweig monastery . After the parish was founded, the old parish church was built instead of a small chapel . When the old church became too small, the new parish church was built in 1975 and 1976 by Hans Hoffmann . This was consecrated on September 5, 1976 by Archbishop-Coadjutor Franz Jachym . The construction costs amounted to four million schillings and were covered by the parish, the Archdiocese of Vienna and the Göttweig monastery.

Church exterior

The church is a square central building with a pyramid roof . Reinforced concrete panels are located above the entrance, suggesting a church tower .

Church interior

The roof structure is open to the church, which rests on diagonal concrete beams. At the corners is the sacristy and an anteroom.

Furnishing

Some of the furnishings come from the old church. The baroque high altar cross was redesigned in the 1930s. A figure of Maria Immaculata comes from the first half of the 18th century. The Josephinian baluster font has a bulging bowl.

The organ was built in 1986 by Friedrich Heftner .
