The Kamp parish church is located in Kamp in the market town of Frantschach-Sankt Gertraud in the Wolfsberg district in Carinthia . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Nicholas of Myra belongs to the Wolfsberg deanery in the diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1346 and 1399. 1493 was a church consecration.

The late Gothic church building from the end of the 15th century and the first quarter of the 16th century was expanded to the west in the 19th century. The west tower is from 1843.

architecture

The outside of the church shows two-tiered buttresses on the nave and the choir of the same width. The nave was extended by a yoke. The tower wears a pyramid helmet.

A wooden figure of Nicholas from the 19th century stands outside the southern portal.

The interior of the church shows in the nave in two bays a ribbed vault on round wall services. The consoles on the triumphal arch wall name 1500 and 1523, keystones are painted with maker's marks and 1523. The triumphal arch is from the 19th century. The one-bay choir with a five-eighth closure has a ribbed vault on consoles from the late 15th century. The window openings are from the middle of the 19th century. In 1965 the remains of a painting of angels and angels with a bell from the end of the 15th century were uncovered in the southern vaulted cap of the choir.

Furnishing

The high altar around 1700 shows a picture of the Rosary Madonna and bears the figure of Nicholas from the end of the 15th century on the left and the figure of Johannes Nepomuk around 1700 on the right. The altarpiece bears the Gothic seated figure of Nicholas around 1420. On the wall there are white console figures of Sebastian and Laurentius from the second half of the 18th century. The people's altar is from 1991.
