history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1436. In 1541 a branch church from Kottes , the church was repared to Ottenschlag in 1758 . In 1784 the church was elevated to a parish church.

The Romanesque church with a round apse from the 13th century received a Gothic south tower in the first half of the 15th century. In 1756 the church was redesigned in Baroque style, the organ gallery was built in and the sacristy was added.

architecture

A lower round apse under a conical roof connects to the simple nave under a gable roof. The arched windows were created in 1756 during the Baroque era. The mighty square Gothic south tower has an octagonal baroque tower with an eight-sided pyramid roof. The southern sacristy extension on the nave is in the same alignment on the tower.

The nave shows a flat ceiling. The organ gallery is vaulted with a square vault and stands on two pillars. The choir apse under a conical vault closes behind a wide arched opening above late Romanesque fighters. The choir has windows on the side, the central Romanesque east window is walled up and forms a niche. The tower ground floor is barrel vaulted. The sacristy has square vaults between belts.

Furnishing

The popular altar is modern. The left side altar bears the tabernacle from the former high altar around 1756. The right side altar bears a remarkable figure of Christ from the second half of the 17th century, which represents a statue of grace Jesus of Nazareth as the salvation of the sick and was transferred from the Trinitarian monastery in Madrid . A copy of an older Spanish figure came here from the Trinitarian monastery (Weißspanier) in Vienna in 1793 , which was popularly referred to as the Blue Lord .

There are baroque figures of Maria Queen, Anna with Maria from the middle of the 18th century. There are four evangelist figures from the former pulpit from the first half of the 18th century. There is a crucifix in the choir from the second half of the 19th century. There is a former altarpiece of St. Nicholas around 1840, probably a repainting of an older baroque picture.

The Gothic holy water font was built in the 15th century. There are bells around 1470. The organ was built by Franz Capek (1903).
