Kottes is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Kottes-Purk in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 84 building areas with 33,223 m² and 76 gardens on 31,403 m² in the cadastral community of Kottes , in 1989/1990 there were 106 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 328 and in 2009/2010 there were 161 buildings on 336 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 193 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 9 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 170 hectares and 22 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 150 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 23 hectares. The average soil climate number of Kottes is 25.4 (as of 2010).
