history

The current district of St. Ruprecht was first mentioned in documents in 1213, the church in 1283. In 1847 the medieval church was demolished and the new church was erected and consecrated. In 1956 the church was expanded to the east in the choir area by the architect Helmut Klimpfinger.

architecture

The late classicist forms of the church can be seen on the western gable facade with the tower with a pointed helmet with a gable wreath and on the north facade. A new sacristy has been added to the south. The nave has a barrel vault with belt arches on pilasters. The new, expanded round arch apse from 1956 has a smooth wall with a high-lying window band and a flat ceiling.

Furnishing

The 22 glass windows by Karl Bauer from 1972 show symbols of saints and evangelists.

The chancel is dominated by a large iron crucifix of the Crucified Christ the King by the sculptor Jan Milan Krkoška from 1972. The high altar painting Baptism of a Bavarian Duke by St. Ruprecht by the painter Ignaz Preisegger from the middle of the 19th century was moved to the south wall of the nave and placed in a stucco frame. The holy water font was created in 1629 by the stonemason and master mason Mathias Niger.
