Lengau parish church
The Roman Catholic parish church of Lengau is located in the municipality of Lengau in the Braunau am Inn district in Upper Austria . The church, consecrated to St. James the Elder , belongs to the Mattighofen Dean's Office in the Diocese of Linz . The church building and the cemetery and the war memorial are under monument protection .
history
The church, which is essentially Gothic, was given a Baroque style in the middle of the 17th century. The church was restored in 1951.
architecture
A single-bay cross-vaulted choir with a three-eighth end connects to the single-nave, three-bay barrel vaulted cap. The west tower with a late Gothic profiled portal to the tower hall has an onion helmet. The tower shows a Romanesque figural fragment on the south wall.
Furnishing
The baroque high altar from the second quarter of the 18th century with a tabernacle shows a painting of St. Michael of the Maulbertsch School from the third third of the 18th century. The right side altar as a cross altar bears a figural group Descent from the Cross in the style of Daniele da Volterra , probably painted by a Schwanthaler . The left side altar bears a rococo tabernacle. The base of the pulpit is late Gothic.
There is a bell from 1524.
