The Roman Catholic parish church of Mäder is surrounded by a walled cemetery in an open field in the municipality of Mäder in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . The parish church , consecrated to the holy apostle Bartholomäus , belongs to the Rankweil deanery of the Feldkirch diocese . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

The former branch of Montlingen on the left bank of the Rhine was part of the parish of the Liebfrauenbergkirche in Rankweil. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1650 or 1654. A chapel existed in 1596 under the patronage of the Count of Hohenems . From 1726 a new church was built, which was expanded in 1746. The tower was built in 1762 and raised in the late 19th century. In 1931 the church was extended with the builder Hilti and Otto Gisinger. In 1982 the sacristy was added.

The nave and the retracted choir with a three-eighth closure are under a common gable roof. The sign is bricked. The north tower stands by the nave and choir. The single-storey sacristy annex is to the north of the choir.

The high altar from 1726 with a structure with two twisted columns and a curved gable has niche platforms and acanthus tendrils on the side. The high altar painting Martyrdom of St. Bartholomäus has the signature Jacob Carl Stauder Constanz invenit et pinx 1731. The side figures Peter and Paul and in the upper picture Immaculata are from the beginning of the 18th century.

The organ was built by the Mayer brothers (1876); it was expanded in 1946 and restored in 1955. There is a 14th century bell.
