The Niederwölz parish church is located in the Niederwölz municipality in the Murau district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Maximilian von Celeia belongs to the dean's office in Murau in the diocese of Graz-Seckau . The church and the former cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

A church was documented in 1335. The church was expanded in 1447. The branch church of the parish church Sankt Lorenzen bei Scheifling was elevated to a parish church in 1787. The church was restored inside in 1974 and outside in 1981.

The Romanesque rectangular nave building with a choir square was expanded in 1447 with a Gothic choir with a five-eighth end. A ribbed vault with a round keystone has been preserved above the choir square as a tower yoke. The squat choir square tower has a tent roof. The vault of the nave was redesigned in Baroque style.

Furnishing

Jakob Gschiel built the high altar in 1871.

Johann Feltl names a bell in 1833.
