The parish church of Oberau is located south of Dorfstrasse in Oberau in the municipality of Wildschönau in the district of Kufstein in the state of Tyrol . The Roman Catholic parish church, which is subordinate to the patronage of Margaret of Antioch , belongs to the deanery of Reith im Alpbachtal in the Archdiocese of Salzburg . The church and the war memorial are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

Probably mentioned in a document in 1316 and 1394. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1891.

The uniformly baroque church building was built in 1751/1752 according to plans by Hans Holzmeister.

architecture

The baroque hall building with a slender north tower is surrounded by a cemetery.

Furnishing

The altar furnishings around 1750/1760 with the carved figures were made in Gregor Fritz's workshop. The high altar picture Gloria of St. Margaretha with Katharina and Barbara painted Anton Kirchebner.

The station pictures were created by Christoph Anton Mayr in 1762. Johann Paul Schellener named a bell in 1720.
