The Roman Catholic parish church of Pöndorf is located in the municipality of Pöndorf in the Vöcklabruck district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to Saint Maximilian and belongs to the Frankenmarkt dean's office in the Linz diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

The church is first mentioned in a document in 1143. The church was repaired in 1813 after a fire in 1803.

architecture

Church exterior

The church has a late Gothic choir with a baroque style with a rounded 3/8 end and round services on the outside. The choir has two bays. At the northeast end of the nave there is a late Gothic church tower that merges into an octagon on the upper floor. Above it is a pointed helmet.

Church interior

The long, single-nave nave has five bays. Above it is a barrel vault with stitch caps . The pillars have composite capitals .

Furnishing

The altarpiece of the high altar comes from Franz Schinagl from 1693. The side altars and the pulpit are from the third quarter of the 17th century. On the right side altar is a statue of the Virgin Mary in the manner of Johann Peter Schwanthaler the Elder from the third quarter of the 18th century. The pews were built around 1700. The organ with two manuals and 14 sounding stops was built in 1912 by Hans Mertel from Salzburg-Gnigl.
