architecture

The essentially Romanesque and Gothic church was changed after a fire in the 19th century and expanded in 1910 and received a new tower in 1954. The church is surrounded by a cemetery.

Church exterior

The west tower, built in 1954, consists of unplastered granite blocks. It has arched sound windows and is crowned by an onion helmet. The core Romanesque nave and the choir have arched windows from 1876. On its east side there are grooved, Gothic lancet windows with three-pass closure . The southern portal is behind a porch from the late 16th / early 17th century, with a statue of Mary and Child from the 19th century. A sacristy and oratory annex can be seen next to it. The choir yoke is not very drawn in and has a single stepped buttress on the north side . The core of the Romanesque semicircular apse is probably also Romanesque.

Church interior

The broad nave with its Romanesque core on the east side was extended to its elongated shape in 1910. Historicist frames from 1876 can be seen on the flat ceiling in the older part. The little retracted triumphal arch dates from 1876. The square choir bay with star rib vault is a work of the 2nd / 3rd centuries. Third of the 15th century. On the south side there is a coupled, neo-Romanesque oratory opening. Two chamfered pointed arch portals lead to the sacristy and the oratory staircase, the sacristy portal possibly going back to an older predecessor. Stained glass on the windows show representations of the Annunciation, the calling of Matthew, St. Karl Borromeo and Johann (1933), St. Theresia (1928) and St. Judas Thaddäus (early 20th century)

Facility

The marbled high altar with a concave columned pedicure was erected in front of a walkway around 1720. The altarpiece is the work of Michael Regner (1834) and shows the church patron Martin von Tours . The tabernacle is a work from 1876. There is a picture of God the Father on the volute extract. The side altar is a work from the third quarter of the 19th century. It has a neo-baroque aedicula and a replica of the Lourdes grotto in the central niche . In the former pulpit from 1771, an organ flanked by the pilasters of the earlier pulpit door is now built.

Additional features include carved figures of St. Sebastian, Florian and Wendelin from the 18th century, a baroque portrait of Donatus, a baroque granite font from the 19th century with a baptism group, baroque choir stalls from the 19th century with tendrils, a communion grille from around 1892 and Stations of the Cross from the 1st / 2nd centuries Third of the 19th century.
