The parish church of Pram is located in Pram in the municipality of Pram in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Stephan belongs to the dean's office in Kallham in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

One church was mentioned in a document in the middle of the 14th century. The Gothic church building was baroque in 1729 with the Baroque master builder Jakob Pawanger . In the beginning of the 19th century the church was restored.

architecture

The three-bay choir has a stitch cap vault and a three-eighth end. The three-aisled, three-bay nave has flat hanging domes and a gallery in the western bay. The west tower carries an onion and a lantern.

The glass paintings Healing of the Gouty Man and the Prodigal Son , both in quatrains, and two half-length figures of prophets are from the first half of the 14th century. A glass painting of Our Lady in a halo was created around 1600.

Furnishing

The late baroque high altar was built by the carpenter Fr. Pinder and the sculptor Paul Sattler. Anton Hitzenthaler the elder painted the high altar picture. The left side altar St. The cross is from 1777. The right side altar from around 1660 bears a remarkable statue of Our Lady by Johann Franz Schwanthaler (1711). The baroque figure of Our Lady of Sorrows on the fron arch and the corresponding crucified on the outside of the choir are from the third quarter of the 18th century.

There are some tombstones from the 16th century.

Several baroque wrought iron crosses can be found in the cemetery.

In the rectory is a remarkable carved nativity scene with six depictions by Johann Peter Schwanthaler the Younger from around 1790.
