history

The late Gothic church, surrounded by a walled cemetery, was built around 1430 and was a branch of Sankt Oswald bei Zeiring . The nave was raised and vaulted in 1695. In 1787 the church was elevated to a parish church. In 1880 and 1957 the church suffered fires.

architecture

The two-bay choir with a three-eighth end and pointed arch windows has a star rib vault on consoles. A baroque, constricted, round-arched front arch forms the transition to the nave . The wider, three-bay nave is vaulted with a barn cap on belts and pillars and has rectangular windows with wrought iron bars. The outer buttresses of the nave go up to 2/3 of the height of the facade. The gallery is in the western yoke. The sacristy is built to the north of the choir and has a shoulder arch portal with an iron-studded door. Above the sacristy are two oratorios with wrought iron baskets. The mighty five-story Gothic west tower has domed arched windows and a pointed helmet on two upper floors. The coats of arms of Montfort and Pfannberg with the dates 1525 or 1585 were renewed in 1961.

Furnishing

The high altar from 1772 is made in the style of the sculptor Johann Nischlwitzer . It bears a late Gothic statue of Our Lady from the last third of the 15th century, which was carved over by the sculptor Georg Pame in 1784. The side altars from the 2nd half of the 18th century received central statues in the style of the sculptor Balthasar Prandtstätter . The pulpit is baroque. The Stations of the Cross from 1800 are in the style of the painter Johann Lederwasch . The statues painful Maria and Ecce Homo and the suspension throne in the tower hall are by Balthasar Prandtstätter .

There is a bell from 1475 in the style of Mert von Friesach and a bell from the middle of the 15th century by Hans Mitter.
